I am use to driving the stretch of road and I see the name of the roads on the screen. A couple of weeks later, I'm going down the same road and the lines are there but the name of the roads are not (just every other road name is there). Any idea on what happen? Haven't disconnected the battery or made any changes on the navi.
Next question: Has anyone heard when the updated disc is coming in (going by what Acura has sent me with no due date) and is there a charge to update this. Thanks!!

 

its like 180 dollars for a updated nav dvd ... unless u burn it ... then its free ...

Street name display is (pretty sure) dependent on zoom level. If you zoomed out a level that might be the cause.

 

Just about to say that ^. If you're 1/20th of a mile (IIRC) it'll show most of the street names.

 

I have it zoomed in all the way. Just doesn't make sense the road name appeared there (on the same zoom level) and now it doesn't?

 

Our nav should have more zoom levels. At 1/20, the streets are all listed, but you don't have a good idea of a wider area. At 1/8, most street names are gone, although you gain the perspective of a wider area. There should be zoom at 1/14, among others. I don't have a portable GPS, nor have I tried OEM navs of other cars, so I cannot comment on whether those have more zoom levels.
