Navi Problems

So my navi unit's been acting up lately. It'll be working fine, then all of a sudden none of the navi buttons will work.

The radio station on the upper display where the clock/ac temp is at will disappear as well. Restarting the car doesn't do anything. After some time after the cars been off, everything will start working normally again. Then it happens all over again. It's unpredictable! Extremely frustrating.

Anyone have a solution to this madness? I am so annoyed!

The main display goes out as well?

Sounds like the dvd unit has gone bad. Info on where to send it is in this thread:

Who did the work? If you've already had the unit repaired, then it sounds like a wiring issue probably at the dvd unit unless something was done on the display end.

There are also intermediate connections along the harness that could be intermittent but less likely.

The ETM will show you all this or take it to the dealer.

I really don't know what's going on with my unit. I drove to San Diego and back which was a 4 hr trip, and the navi worked fine the entire time.

It's a very random problem. It happens whenever it wants to. Sometimes it'll work fine, and sometimes after 30 minutes of driving it'll crap out.

i checked all the connections to the unit in the trunk yesterday, unplugged each one then plugged it back in and it's been working perfectly since i guess one must have been a bit loose
