NAVI install by dealership? Do they do it?

Ok, let me just repeat my problem from while back:

I couldn't find a single '05 TL 6spd manual w/Navi in the whole of Arizona, I placed the downpayment of $4k before they told me that I would have to wait for approx. 2 months at least for a car. I think they are BSing me a bit, that I have to wait for the car that long that is. Now, we only have 3 official Acura dealerships here in Phoenix Metro and 2 of them are telling me the same story. Btw, I didn't ask for any specific color combination, I just told them that I don't want red, white or green and that was it.

Now, cruising the web and looking under the inventory of the 3rd dealership, I see that they have Anthracite with Ebony '05 6spd w/o Navi. Although still need to check with the actual dealership if they REALLY have it, I'm furious now because these other guys were bullshitting me about the wait when this dealership has one. And I know they all work together, so it's very likely that these other 2 dealerships were BSing me to make more money on me.

My question is, since the Navi is actually an option, can dealerships in general install the Navi locally? I don't see why that would be a problem since someone on this board did it by themselves, but I just don't know.

Anyone?

They will probably not do it. And, if they did attempt it, it would most probably cost more than the $2K to get it from the factory. I would love to do this conversion myself, but I know its not going to happen at a dealership.

Take it to Montclair Acura in NJ. They will install one for you.

Simple answer: no. it would cost a lot of money to get the navi unit - the screen itself is probably a thousand, the dvd drive is around 2 thousand, navi software, install time, etc. if you can get your deposit back why not go out of state and pickup the car?

The Navi is a "factory" installed option. A dealer might intsall it for you, but they'll probably leave it up to you to come up with the navi unit , and you'll also need to buy the center console (maybe even the dash) as they are different for a non-nav TL. The parts alone will come close to $2000, and you're looking for alot more money for labor.

Your best bet is to just wait for the right car to come in. Because it'll be cheaper, and don't forget that you'll need to leave the car at the installation place for a while.

Search in the 2nd gen TL and CL, this has been discussed over there.
