Bzyrice you got it to work? i had the exact same problem. so all i do is go to my car, go to that version thing and then find out what file i need to change? i thought it was BNHH401A or whatever

 

yup got it to work.. see my pics.. yah.. you need to see which file your navi loads. . to determine which file you need to hack..

 

so its not BNHH401A.bin. how long should it take to update the back.bmp? mine says "updating bmp.back..." and it stays liek that FOREVER

 

well i checked and it is BNHH401A; how come it takes so long to back up the BMP?

 

The filename can be case sensitive...make sure you use "Back.bmp". Also, make sure your BMP file is the correct parameters before trying to import it. 480X234, Indexed, 111kb

 

i did all of that and its exactly the way it should be. exactly 480x234, indexed, 111kb. i extracted the folder n checked the Back.bmp and its the picture i updated. so I put it in my car and did everything and it didnt change.

 

that means you are modifying the wrong file! Check which one your car uses and then mod that file

 

thats what i thought. but i checked on my car and it said the file i need to mod is the 401A one.. its not working! something is wrong. i dont get it and im about to give up lol

 

Make sure the file you are burning onto the cd is the same file you are updating the Back.bmp with dumpnavi .. i burned the wrong file by accident one time and there were no changes.. lol

 

how long does it take to update?

when i type it into the CMD, it says "updating back.bmp....." and it stays like that forever. lol

 

oh thats not good.. it should take less then 5 seconds. What exactly are you typing in the cmd line? post it here so we can make sure it is right.

 

open CMD

c:

cd navi

dumpnavi BNHH401A.bin update Back.bmp

(thats when it says updating Back.bmp...)

 

Try using Bysin to update the BMP.
Put the Bysin executable and your new Back.bmp file in the same directory as BNHH401A.bin.
Command line = bysin BNHH401A.bin update Back.bmp Back.bmp

Yah i got your pm, but I am having trouble sending it out because they are exe files.. hotmail doesnt allow it anymore.. So, I may just send it with a different file name then you guys will need to change it back to exe.

 

Can you load ANY personal photo? I'm the type that would also try this a million times and then ruin the Navi.
