Navi to DVD

I am new to acurazine........

I just bought a 07 Acura TL Navi 3 weeks ago.

Anyone in Tennessee does Navi to DVD conversion to include (2) headrest monitors. I would likt o install a dvd player under the cassette player like someon did with the myron and davis device. Additionally, I would like to install headrest monitors and be able to listen thru the existing auio system and through headphones and have the capability to plug aux jack into the Navi and headrest for external devices.

I really do not want to take the challenge and do it myself, but if I have to........

I suggest using the search feature. I'm sure there is someone who has done this. I'm actually going to have visor, headrests monitors and the dvd to navi converter installed next spring or summer.

For that sophisticated a system, Dom's unit will not suffice. You will need the AVElectronics module.

Check out this thread: INSTALLED: AVELECTRONICS video switcher, with TV Tuner... Awesome!

More with a keyword search for headrest* or lcd*.

OK, if I do not desire aux jack into navi.....will Dom's unit work...

1) DVD player audio jacks tapped into aux plug jack for factory stereo (07 TL has aux feature) which will allow sound switching to/from DVD. Sound come thru system when aux button pressed.
2) Power DVD switch (DCC switch to Dom's unit) allows video switching to/from Navi screen.
3) Audio jacks from DVD player (with splitter) to headrest monitors with IR and wireless headphones....can isolate audio from factory steoreo.
4) Video jacks from DVD player (with splitter) to headrest monitors (with DCC switch off should still provide video to headrest monitors).
5) Purchase each headrest monitors with (2) video inputs ...can run to game port if necessary)

Sound for Navi should still work when listening to movies thru factory stereo??????? should be just like listening to CDs/radio.

Am I way off....your thoughts.....

3) hmmm.. How many outputs does your DVD player have? Most have only one RCA output. You're trying to split one audio source three ways (from dvd to factory aux-in and two headrests)? That might actually work but the sound quality might suffer with interference. If you select aux-in, you'll be able to hear the the audio from the DVD player through the factory speakers. Your rear passengers will have the option to "plug in" a headset into the headrest monitors to listen to the audio from the DVD player anytime. Might work.
4) hmm.. same thing here. You're planning to switch video from a single DVD player to through outputs: navi screen (via Dom) and two headrests. In theory it seems possible, but then again, if your player's output is weak, then the video will be distorted on all three monitors.
5) sure if you can find such monitors

Sound for navi will override any CD/Radio/Aux-In sound in the front side speakers. I believe the rear speakers will always hear the selected audio source.

Sounds like an interesting setup. I'm just not sure if your DVD player will have enough juice to output to all of those sources. The AVElectronics module, on the other hand, is designed to allow you to output a single video source to multiple monitors. Good luck!

Spoke to Sam from AVelectronics. He said it would work but I will need small amplifier for video signal. I am looking at using his small (budget) navigation unit....not the big switcher
