Navi Disc Version
Hey all, I have the original 04 orange dvd that came with the car. So I am trying upgrade and went to ebay. There are so many versions for sale. Does anyone know what the dates are for the versions? I see alot of ver 3.5. I assume anything higher was produced after that. Is there a list for the versions and the year they update?

Keep Right Except to Pass
The current version for the 2004 TL is Version 3.C0. I believe the original that came with the car was 3.30 (I'm not positive, as I no longer have my original disc, sent it to someone from this forum when I got a newer disc some years back). Anything with a higher number than "5" or with a letter in that same position denotes a more recent release. I've always assumed that the letter denotes hexadecimal version numbering.*
*Base 16, which uses letters "A" through "F" to round out the digits for each position—if you don't follow, consider that with binary numbering you use solely a "1" or a "0" such that "10" denotes what we normally write as "2" and indicates there is one digit in the "twos" place and no digits in the "ones" place; so with hexadecimal, you have the "ones" place and then the "sixteens" place such that "10" is what we normally write as "16," but since our regular digits only go from "0" to "9" they needed another six digits and so used letters, such that "1F" denotes "31").

Not that I've seen.
However, it seems that each "tenth" digit is a successive year-- 3.30 = 2004, 3.40 = 2005, etc., until 2011, when disc manufacturer Navteq switched to letters for the digit to the right of the period: 2011 = 3.A0, 2011 = 3.B0, etc.
The letter designations following the digits indicate software improvements added to the disc from prior versions. My 2005's original disc was a 3.40c, IIRC.
