NAVI Direction List

Can someone please try this? Set a destination of a few hundered miles and have the route calculated. Then immediately check the Direction List. On mine, when you scroll down you only get the first few directions. It takes a few minutes to complete the direction list even though the complete route has been calculated minutes before. Does your NAVI exhibit the same behavior?

Yeah, mine does this as well. Also, if you view the directions list once shortly after the navi calculates a route to your destination, then again several minutes later, you'll notice that it will sometimes change its mind on what it considers to be the best route.

What is interesting is that if you zoom out the map, it usually has drawn the blue line much farther than the directions contained in the list. I guess it has to go look up the road names after the fact...

But let us not forget, that it is a very good design.

What I mean here is, when you look up a distant place (more than 50+ miles) it immediately starts guiding you on the current road. Imagine you are on a main highway and your exit is coming, and Navi was to wait for the full period to load the entire route.

It instead immediately guides on the coming turn, while calculating the rest of the route in the background.

Mine does this too...I can see why they had to do this on the back end, so I can't complain too much...

i gotta agree with PANKUL on this one......how can u really complain about the direction list taking a little longer......it already starts telling u where to go and if u really want the diretcion list for some odd reason(because your not gonna write it down) u should have no problem waiting a minute for the direction list on a long trip to load

Oh, I wasn't complaining at all. Being a programmer, it is interesting to me how it works.

Now, for a complaint: They need to figure out that 7-11's don't have Bank Of America ATMs!
