Navi Commands

Picking up a 2004 Silver/Ebony Auto with Navi on Thursday. Had a two day test drive and paired my T637 OK. Couple of questions regarding the HFL & Navi. Is there an integrated antenna in the TL that boosts cell signal strength? (I don't think there is). Also regarding Navi voice commands has anyone tried asking questions such as "Find nearest Circuit City or "Find nearest Outback Steakhouse"?

Haven't tried asking those questoins. There is a list of commands that the system recognizes but I don't recall seeing those.

Someone on here posted that "Find nearest Hooters" worked, but I've had no luck with that or any other restaurant by name.

I did impress my cousing a couple of weeks ago - she wanted some margaritas so I said "Find nearest mexican Food" and it found a cantina 3 blocks away :-)

Check out the complete list: http://www.acura-tl.com/forums/showt...gation+command

I've tried "Find nearest Acura", gas station, atm, grocery store, but have not tried any specific names. That was all during test drives. I'm still waiting on my '05 so I can't tell you for real unfortunately.

You can only request "Find nearest <thingy>" for thingys that are already existing on the Navi command listing. You can search for Italian, Japanese, Chinese, Mexican, etc. However, you can't search for "Find nearest Hooters", or any other specifically named place (with the exception of "Acura Dealers" or "Honda Dealers").

And, no - there isn't any sort of "antenna booster" in the TL, since it doesn't have a phone. It only uses the Bluetooth Gateway to access the internal audio & dialling features of your cell phone. Think of it as using the TL's audio system as a remote microphone and remote speaker of your cell phone.

So, you would need to attach some sort of antenna booster to your cell phone for any sort of cellular signal improvement.
