Check your settings for the nav, if its set to auto, it will switch with the headlights. The max button will manually switch the nav screen.

Thumbs up

Sometimes even when you have it set to "Auto" it will still be displaying the tan background used for day driving when you turn on your headlights.

If this is the case, just push the instrument cluster brightness one down (less brightness) and then put it back up to the level it was at. The Navi display will then go to night, like it should.

This bugged me when I first got my TL and it was such a simple fix. I would bet in Vegas that this is all you need to do to get it to switch. You may have to do it once in a while, but a least you know you can do it even while driving.
