Need some help about purchasing a DVD navigation Screen. I have an 04TL and I'm thinking about upgrading. The Screen brings no cables. There's two auctions for this item on ebay.

1. What kinds of cables do I need? Do I need to adapt anything?
2. Do I need a DVD Player? The audio system in my TL says DVD to the right insert of the CD Changer
3. I know about purchasing the DVD disc to function correctly.

There are threads here on factory navi conversions. They will give you a wealth of information. It can be done. But you are missing a ton of items with those auctions. But getting a screen for those prices would be a great start!

In a nutshell, you basically need to rip your car apart top to bottom. The wireharnesses alone cost close to $1000 that your non-navi car doesn't have. Its not worth the trouble in most peoples eyes. I looked into it too but will end up just putting in a carputer with a touch screen instead. If you do a search you should be able to find more threads with specifics on what is required to install the OEM navi.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know if the plastic part, front part, not the actual screen can be purchased seperately? if so how much/where/what part number is it?
