I just purchased my TL (2005 - brand new). What version Nav system comes standard with the car? Is there a more up to date version? Is this a dvd that I need to purchase versus having the system update through automatic downloads? I have read threads on these downloads. What is downloaded? Tks!

 

To see what version you got, open the Navi DVD player in your trunk and see what it says on the disk. I got my car earlier this month and I have 3.40c. There are no updates that it downloads. The 'download message' that you have read about happens in cases where you either force the car to redownload info off the the dvd, or if the navi loses power and needs to get the info (operating system) off the dvd again.

Was just going to look for availability of the new Nav disc in Canada. EH!

It would appear that 3.04 is the latest version of the disc. Says so if you go to the

Acura.com website .... they have an order form right on their web site to order

the newest version. It states that 3.04 is their latest offering.

Right now, this TL owner is a little more than P*ssed Off with Acura Canada.

I cannot get a straight answer from anyone involved with this car to give me any kind of answer for Canadian owners about getting the new version. I know it is a little $$$$ i.e. $185 US dollars.

In system setup, my version is listed as 1.00.10 I picked up my car two weeks ago. Am I missing something? oh, it's a 2005 TL.

You can't. It is a Dual DVD.

Greg-ster, thanks for the reply. I am thinking that the software version I am referring to has something to do with the hardware. I honestly haven't seen the player yet. I know in my CL it was hanging in the trunk.....not sure where to look in the TL. Tomorrow I will check it out. Thanks again.....

E-mailed Acura Canada 3 Weeks ago about upgrade to 3.40A....reply, maybe an update by the middle of 05, visit our online site and purchase when available.....Today in the mail, Updated DVD ver 3.40C free of charge

 

No can do! Run a search, many have tried without success.

 

Nero can do it. I just don't have a dual layer burner. If I get it to work I'll let you guys know and we'll torrent it.

Just a recap: Quite few of us have tried with Nero and Alcohol 120%. We've made sure that the bitsetting is to DVD-R. Most experiments have been done with NEC's 3500. No one has done a good accounting of what media has been tried and failed.

If you can get a backup working, awesome. Please share the howto if you succeed.

 

anyone have the iso image for 3.40c? maybe torrent or some other way to transfer?

 

Hello. I own an Acura MDX and the latest DVD Version is 3.40c according to acuranavi.com/canada/en .I was wondering if that is the same DVD you have and if so, could you please tell me if it has the towns of Gibsons or Sechelt covered?
