Nav Screen Resolution
I don't know the numbers...It's horrible compared to VGA (typical computer resolution). I put a carpc on a navi screen once and it looked like crap. It's actually pretty decent for video, but any high res. text will be unintelligible.

For carputers, if connected properly (direct RGB), you should be able to get similar results to the navi computer, which is very good considering the low resolution. But most of the free or existing software is geared toward higher resolution, so you may need to make custom software for this lower resolution screen.
If you hook up your carpc using TV out and a NAV TV adapter, expect very poor results. The image will be pretty fuzzy/blurry. IMO, you can still get away with using HTPC software (like Apple's Frontrow, MSFT MCE, mythpc) with the NAV TV adapter, but thats about it.
