Nav screen protectors... Worth it?

I intend to keep this ride for a long time (when i get it, it'll be an 06 TL w/nav obviously) and have never had nav, but worked @ a car dealership way back when... When nav first came out (or touch screen controls for that matter) the screens sometimes couldn't be "cleaned" as the surface was worn where the buttons or whatever were touched on screen. For that reason I am thinking I want a screen protector, but not sure if that has its own drawbacks or not... For example, hot sun w/plastic on nav screen over say a Texas summer... Will it adhere forever more and result in the same problem? I am just not sure what to do in this regard, but would like to get one before I take delivery and can find 'em on eBay all day long, and delivery is supposed to happen sometime late this week. ANY advice appreciated. Also, any regrets on the 18s if you have 'em, or any rave reviews for the 17s if you have those? I'm going w/a blue TL and want chrome, but don't want to reduce ride quality. The smoother the ride, the less likely that rattles will happen right off the bat.

Rey :)

Welcome, Rey. This one has been debated a lot. I have the one from Strongs Engineering and like it, while others feel it unnecessary. Use the Search feature to find out more.

Welcome. I would search for this as it has been covered a million and one times.

I have the one from...I think it was NuShield.
No problems what so ever.
I think it's a nice little investment.
