Nav screen just flicking rapidly

I have read all the threads about removing the unit in the trunk and send it to Alpine. In that case as soon as I turn my ignition on, the nav screen is just black and white and blinking or flicking. What do I need to do to find out where is the problem. The drive in the trunk or the unit in the dash board?

Did you try disconnecting the battery for about 10 minutes? This will hopefully reset everything. Before you do it, make sure you have your Navi and Radio codes.

Really appreciate the answer and thank you for your welcome. I have tried to disconnect the battery for 10 mn. Unfortunately, it did not change anything.

Trust me, sometime I really want to blow it. I can turn off the screen and I keep looking at it blinking right in front of my face every time I drive. Battery is less than a year old. But thanks for your help.

If it will start right now then I'm not sure what to tell you. Maybe call alpine and see if that's one of the things they can fix.

Yes this is a wise thing to do before I remove and ship them the wrong part. Thanks for all your answers.
