Nav resets itself

Are any of you experiencing this?
In the middle of my preset route, just cruisin' down the freeway, the Nav. resets itself, and the start up screen appears. This has happened twice. Maybe a factory glitch?
Thanks in advance

Had my RL for about 1.5 years now and took a trip earlier this summer and saw this "feature" once during the trip. Have not used the Nav in preset trip mode a lot but have used it before. The trip was in the neighborhood of 400-500 miles if memory serves.

Do you have to re-enter your route info after the restart? If so, I too would think this is a result of a bad connection/short etc..

Never have seen this in my 04. I would definitely bring that to the attention of the warranty provider... Your "dealership" :-)

Good luck

No, I don't have to re-enter the route. After I push "ok", it reverts back to my route.
Thanks

Have you been traveling in the same area when this happens? Check the disk for any dirt/scratches and make sure it is an updated version. A navi restart happens when the drive can't read the disk and locks up, this has happened to me once or twice on newer cars, but due to fingerprints on the disk.

and there were no tunnels or massive overpass structures- other things like Sun spots to disrupt the signal?

I would run a CD cleaner disc in the nav unit just like you do in the car CDS player
Did you know the Maxell cleaner disc says to use every 10 hours of play?- oooops

Thanks for the help! Sounds like a simple clean will fix the problem. Haven't seen a re-occurence
