Nav Kit Group Buy From Sokolov?
Has anyone received thier Nav Kit from this group buy yet? I just received mine but I do not have a TL (on order for mid to late August) just yet. Well I was looking at the instructions:
Behind navi unit should be Black 20pin plug, wires are next to each other.
1.cut WHITE wire coming from navi unit, wires from module connect red toward screen and yellow towards navi unit
2. cut RED wire coming from navi unit, wires from module connect blue toward screen and green towards navi unit
3. cut YELLOW wire coming from navi unit, wires from module connect violet toward screen and orange towards navi unit
4. cut BROWN wire coming from navi unit, wires from module connect black toward screen and brown towards navi unit
5. take BLUE coming from navi unit, wires from module connect black with letters into blue of navi screen
*red connect to switch that is connected to 12V
*black connect to parking brake.
and have some questions. Instruction #5 does not say to cut the BLUE wire like #1-4. So do I just splice the wire into the Blue wire? And also it says black connects into parking brake. Is this needed for the unit to work or can it be bypassed? If you have done this conversion please let me know in more detail.

Sounds easy enough no cutting for step 5, just splice in the black w/ letters.
And that is what I had assumed for the other black wire, just a ground, that can go about anywhere. (I guess some local laws require connection to the brake to prevent DVD viewing while in motion.)

I installed mine the 2nd day that I got my car and it was real easy. It took my about 15 minutes to install it and another 30 minutes for my to install my dvd player. The hardest part was running the wires to the unit from my dvd player other than that it was pretty simple. I'll post pics up as soon as I take them. They will be posted tomorrow.

I know he is developing a plug and play unit. Perhaps the new unit covers audio?
Has anyone been in touch with Blitzsafe lately? I have tried to email them on several occasions but my emails get bounced back, their box is full.

but does it tie into the audio as well? The plug and play unit for avelectronics has audio in and audio out and all.. but it does not tie into the audio system. You have to splice into the xm audio.. I am curious if this new one will somehow get into the audio playback.

For you that have hacked the XM, does the XM Receiver in the Trunk have a plug?
What I am hoping is VSokolov (or anyone really) comes out with a unit that has pass through plugs for both the NAVI Computer AND the XM Cables, so you dont have to cut or splice anything. You just unplug the NAVI Cable, plug the NAVI Cable into a small "Extender" type thing and then plug the other end of the extender into the NAVI Computer. Same for the XM Connections, and then pre-wired into the 2 Extenders are all the necessary cables that go back to the VSokolov Adapter. And it then has 3 RCA Connectors (or more with a source selector).
From the info I have seen on these forums and the Adapters already being made, this type of pure plug and play unit shouldnt be that hard to make. The hardest part would be running a set of wires all the way to the front dash to mount the selector switch (NAVI w/ XM vs VideoIn w/ AudioIn)

I did the same setup as MileHigh, It was real easy. Running wires was the pain. To get audio you would need a FM Modulator / Blitzsafe or if DVD player have the headphone jack (cassette tape to headphone). Video to Sokolov Converter and R/L audio to Modulator.

Are these blitzsafe things good quality? I want really good quality .. if you're playing dvd's then you want to at least have some decent audio. Anyone else have any other sollutions besides tapping into the XM?

What do you have??????????????????
BTW Blitzsafe doesn't have an adapter for the '04 TL.

Check out this XM Satelite Radio FM modulator. This looks very nice.

MSRP $49.99
What does everyone think? Will it work?

I bought Vsokolov convertor but I didn't get the one that's plug and play. Does anyone know where to get a black 20pin plug male and female that fits the TL Nav? I don't want to cut the OEM wires, instead I want to make it so I can wire it up to Vsokolov convertor.
