Nav DVD - Covering both US & Canada ?

I live in the US but go to Canada once a year. Does my DVD that I get with a new 2005 TL that I would buy in the US cover just the US or do I have to buy the Canadian one too to get coverage in Canada?

I'm on pins and needles waiting for it to arrive. Dealer says any day now!

Yes the DVD does cover Southern Canada. The coverage isn't fantastic but most urban areas are well covered.

If you are going from Niagara Falls to Toronto you are OK.

I travel through New Brunswick and end up on Prince Edward Island. Anyone know if that area is covered?

I don't need it to find my way but would like to see how much detail it would have in that area.

My guess is not too much as that area is not that heavily populated as Ontario or Quebec.

The US DVD does not cover the Maritimes; for that matter, coverage of eastern Maine is lousy too. Going north, my DVD cuts off roughly at Montreal, with maybe two of the autoroutes in the Eastern Townships shown. Quebec City and Trois-Rivieres are not on there.

Holy threadbump!

The orange update disc I bought last fall does not cover PEI, which is too far to the east. It barely covers any of Nova Scotia—just a smidgen down around Yarmouth up to about Church Point. (RIP Cat Ferry service, BTW.)

But RJANACONDA's advice is best—check the website to determine the info for the specific disc required by your model year. I'd be surprised if PEI is on any of the US-spec DVDs, however. Since you were part of this thread way back when, I suspect you use the orange disc the same as I do and the advice about checking the website is more for newer forum members whose TLs may take the white disc. (Of course, you could have replaced your TL with a newer one as well.)

I didn't mean it as complaining. I was just surprised.
