MY New and Slow Build...from 06TL to 08TL

well i went to get a oil change on my 06 TL and a hour later drove off with a 08. So im starting over. i took most of my equipment out of the 06 that i could but left a good bit of it(hybrid audio components, infinity center channel, back up camera, Isimple and DOM's NAV2go) since i just didnt have the time and it was a headache trying to strip a car and such on the dealership lot. So im starting over from scratch.

MY Plans are to use the MS-8
Hertz Hi-Energy components(front)
Factory rear speakers just for fill
Either the HD600/4 or XD600/4(still up in the air)
Jl 500/1(took the 06TL)
10w7(also from the 06) but might go 13t5(to save space)
A few Boxes of dynamat (wish i could have taken the $300 worth of dynamat @dealer cost) i had in my 06 so i have to start over with that also.

SO far ive just done the Optima Yellow top, kicker Battery Terminals, Upgraded the BIG 3, 4 gauge Grounds shrink wrapped to give a factory appearance, and . Kicker Wires and a Rockford Fuse Holder i also took out the 06

more to come

Can't wait to see the build come along. Good luck with it! Just a quick question...

Which HAT components did you have? I see you're going from HAT --> Hertz so I assume you didn't like them or heard some Hertz that sounded better.

The legatia's they were ok, i was using no real processing just tuning from a zapco 4 channel amplifier via Laptop. I think i just didnt have enough power going to them, Im going with Hertz because they sound really Good and i can get them for a really good price.

Can you get members them for a good price? LOL. You going with the Milles or what? 3-way?

I'd say either install or tune was bad b/c those speakers should sound pretty solid

the Hybrid audios were ok(i say ok because im very critical with audio and enjoy home audio more then car audio, lol), they have a very nice sound but i just didnt have enough power to get the full potential out of them from the zapco 4 channels i using. I needed a 6 channel to bridge or a much stronger 4 channels to drive the speakers properly. I was satisfied with the sound but the zapco 360.4 just didnt give them the power they needed to be more dynamic, if that makes any sense. I like to over power my components and run active for more control. i just had the zapco from a previous install which gave me tuning but lacked power. As far as pricing on the components ill see what i can do inbox me your email and ill see what i can do but i cant guarantee anything but i dont mind trying

Woah...you were running active with that? You must of had some serious clipping at 50x4. Even if you ran passively it'd be 180x2 and that's not really enough, like you said. A few of us have began to realized that more power leads to more efficiency and better dynamics it seems. That 600/4 should be nice for an active setup. Same power as mine and I works well. Mine is a helluva lot bigger though lol
