iSimple is nice because it charges the iPod/iPhone while it plays and I would assume it offers the best sound quality.

Wireless would be good for the person in a hurry and just wants to get in and drive, plus you wouldn't have to plug in the device every time you got in.

The best source material can be extracted from the OEM disc. The Isimple is convenient and you can get pretty close to similar quality if your careful about what type of files you download. Streaming is just gonna be crap no matter what.

If most of your music on the iPod is from CD's you'll be good but say, YouTube songs, have HORRIBLE quality.

For pure quality, it's factory DVD-A/SACD/DTS, etc.

Once you get to MP3 quality the method of getting that to the head unit doesn't matter much - you've already compromised the quality to the point that you don't lose much else in 'transmission'. On that front the convenience of streaming from a phone/pod is hard to beat.

Sirius/XM is shit for quality .... FM is better; why anyone would pay for XM, I don't know.

I just keep an ipod connected to isimple and its always ready to play and is charged. I think thats a bit more convenient than the bluetooth , but when i want quality its the disc player

Agreed. CDs, considering the data burnt on them is of good quality and done right, no mp3 player, ipod, bluetooth streaming, XM or FM are going to beat it. DVD-A can't even be in the same argument.

I stopped paying for XM over 6 years ago. In fact, I don't even have the module installed. USELESS feature as far as I'm concerned.

Ya'll ain't gonna believe this

Oh how things can change! The "The DVD-A Script Guy" now primarily uses his Android phone plugged in via a Blitzsafe iPod interface using a Grom Audio iPod Female End to 3.5 mm Male Jack AUX Cable ! The convenience of all my music on Google Play Music, podcasts at the instant ready via Podkicker, various streaming radio, and all the other facilities of the phone (calls, nav, etc.) are just too alluring. I know the sound quality is "off" but what can I say... I've been beaten down by the quantity over quality business model thrust upon us by content providers. Mounted using my admittedly ingenious cassette slot phone holder, it's a thing of beauty.

But... when I want to really listen, of course there's no substitute for DVA-A or CDs.

For those who have an iPod adaptor but are looking to use other devices with it here's the cable I'm using. A bit pricy compared to eBay models but it has given no problems.

I also use my android phone but simply headphone out to 3.5mm aux in. I think the sound quality is very comparable to cds but all my music is 256k aac. Yeah, wish the dvd-a format had caught on, nothing really comes close IMO.

The Google navigation that comes with the OS is the best I have used.
