MP3 player and nav screen
hey there,
I just want to verify what I seem to be reading: Currently the "best" solution (highest quality, lowest failure rate) to getting MP3s to play in your car is to install a hard drive-based player and jack the video into the switcher from AVElectronic and then into the Navi DVD output with a toggle switch that runs to the front and then the audio into the XM wires with some kind of relay/switch to switch between those?
Most of this is of course the well known WIlliam's 2004 TL..
This sounds great and all, but I don't really want to carry around a cluster of remote controls in my car just to play a couple MP3s.. Is there a better/easier solution that I'm missing that maybe utilizes the touch screen? Should I just wait until some other better solution comes along?

The current 'best' way to get MP3's into your car is via a HD based player (iPod) splicing into the audio system via a powered hard-wired FM modulator. You don't lose the XM Radio in this method, and it's relatively inexpensive and sounds great.
.....or.....
Be patient and wait out Blitzsafe and Soundgate who are working on TL harnesses that will allow iPod navigation from the TL's radio controls (note, not touch screen).
