Motorola v710 question

Last night I paired the phone no problem.Does the car and or phone do a automatic recognition or do I have to go to my phone settings and click on bluetooth.
This seems the only way I can then connect. Is this correct?
Just getting into the car with the phone on only shows the signal and battery strength
Thanks,
CJB

CJB,

We have a new V710 as well with the same question. We have to activate the BueTooth each time getting into the car. Did a search on the forum and so far have found out that having the BT active all the time used up battery power faster. Only found key shortcuts to turn it off and on to avoid the battery drain.

Above is the key short cut thread. Will be watching here to see if we're missing something. Sure would be nice to have automatic pairing whenever in the car.

My SE T68i automatically pairs up whenever I get in. For my Blackberry 7520, I always have to accept the pairing each time I get in.

Thanks for the link John.I'll give it a try, has to be easier then going through all the current steps.
I finally figured it last night, that you had to keep reconnecting to bluetooth every time you got in the car.
I can't play with these things after a long day ................lol

I leave my bluetooth on and the phone pairs everytime I get in the car with no problem. I haven't noticed the battery drain to be a pain, of course I don't talk much during the day, and I charge every night.

Unless you pair your phone with another device or drop the pairing with hfl, they should hookup whenever they are brought into range of eachother (and the car ignition on of course). Atleat this is how my V3 moto and Treo 650 work in my tl.

My motorola V710 automatically pairs with the HFL every time I get in the car. I leave the bluetooth on the phone & don't notice any unusual battery drain.

My V710 also automatically pairs. No unusual battery drain.

Mine does drain rather quickly using the HFL so I keep a charger in the car and keep it plugged as I drive. It's always charged when I get out that way.

Guys, i got my V710 on saturday and ill tell u how u can make the HFL and the phone recognize automatically. Go to the connection option on the phone. Then go to bluetooth link or something like that, then go to setup, and simply switch the power off option to power on. Now, the phone and the car will automatically work without reconnection everytime u get in the car.

Had my 710 since they came out, no problem pairing, must leave bluetooth power on of course, default is off. Have had no problem with battery drain but am not a heavy user. However often go away for two days, unit on 48 hours, couple of calls under 30 minutes, use alarm for wakeup, blue tooth on, still have 2 bars by time I get home.

I may be quite wrong, but what about the drain on the TL's battery? Isn't it constantly "polling" for the V710 if one leaves them "linked" all the time? Would that not consume residual battery energy in the TL, which sums with all the "stay alive" drain already in the car?

If the car is turned off ,would this still be possible?
