Hey everyone...I am in the market for the V710

I just went to Radio Shack tonight to look at the phone and find out more about it. I told the salesman that I just recently purchased a TL and I am looking to upgrade my cellphone to bluetooth to use with the car.

He goes on to tell me that it will not work with the car because of the current version of the firmware. He also went on to say that the only thing that the phones bluetooth works with is the wireless ear piece.

Apparently Verizon disabled the phones ability to use bluetooth to sync with other bluetooth devices??? How much of what this salesman is telling me is the truth, and how much is BS?

I already know from searching the forum and reading various threads that there are people out there with V710's that work just fine with the TL minus the battery and signal strength.

Anyone with the V710 care to share their experiences??? Thanks in advance guys!

 

My v710 works fine with my TL. The only glitch that seems to exist is that i have to wait a few seconds before answering incoming calls.....or it somehow doesn't make the connection. Outgoing calls are fine...no problems at all. I don't know what the RS guy means.....I think he's working from ignorance.

 

yea hes stupid....verizon did disable certain bluetooth syncing abilities for PC and other such things but not for the car he is stupid and ignorant, he knows nothing

 

one thing that was disabled was the phone will not pass the battery strength or signel strength to the mid display. It will not sync with a bluetooth computer but you can buy a usb cable and moto phone tools to sync by cable. If you want to change rigntones youhavet o buy a transflash card for 25- 30 dollars and a multifunction reader not a biggie in my opinion.
