Wouldn't that end up costing the same or more without the functionality some are looking for, such as using the wheel and radio controls to interact with your ipod and hopefully see the mp3 info on the navi screen?

because i cruz will still require you to splice into the deck

im waiting for blitzsafe so i can directly input into the deck from the av electornis converter. the converter has multiple outs and ins, so think of it as the AV hub. where i can plug anything into it, and then anything can out put (up to three seperate screens can all output differnect signals)

in theory, you could get the convertered, with blitzsafe and then plug everything into the converter (ipod, dvd, gamecube, whatever)

make sense?

the iCruze will work in virtually hundreds of different vehicles via the vehicles' CD player or satellite radio connection.
How is that different from the blitzsafe, which is the alternative the icruze is goign after?

also, (im not an expert) but blitzsafe doesnt splice the XM or CD player, like it sounds like ICruise does...

its an actual input that will make sure there is no signal loss. so the volume is conisntent.,

Ive read on other threads that splicing (if thats what icruise does) results in a much lower signal, very quiet and more static

Is it just me...?

Anyone notice that Monster keeps updating the iCruze site countdown to reflect later and later times? Last week the countdown indicated that it would be out yesterday. When I looked on Monday the countdown had been changed to reflect 8 days until release. Today, the countdown now says 30+ days until it comes out... Sounds like they are on the same road as BlitzSafe!

It will cost a lot for the equipment and then much more for installation. I am not sure i want to go this way in installing it into my car

Jerky, Icruze does not have multiple inputs. It was designed to support the use of ipods with the factory HU.

This is from the FAQ page regarding the Icruze:

I currently have a factory CD Changer installed in my vehicle. Will it still work after iCruze is installed?
NO ? iCruze needs to plug into that same CD Changer port on your factory car stereo. Once iCruze is installed, your factory CD Changer is disabled.

I have a factory indash multi-disc CD Changer in my vehicle. Will iCruze work?
NO.

I don?t see my vehicle listed on the application chart. When will a module be available for my make/model?
New modules are being developed on a regular basis. Check back each month to see which new vehicles are iCruze capable.

Will any of my vehicle?s factory functions become disabled after I install iCruze?
Select vehicles will lose functionality of select features. Select GM models may lose XM Satellite Radio and/or Rear Seat Entertainment control and/or DVD navigation capability. Please refer to the iCruze online congfigurator for a complete list of the exceptions that may pertain to your particular vehicle.

The first question about the port - doesn't XM use it? At this point, I believe it's not compatible with 3G TLs based on their FAQ. Cupidoneil hit it on the head, the cost of the equipment/install is ridiculous and not worth the effort to have Ipod in the car. Maybe there will be an inexpensive option in the furture.
