ok, so most of us know about the nav settings already. if your lights are on and you make the setting maximum lighting... then the gauges get hella bright and so does the nav. now, when im driving at night... i like the guages to be as bright as possible... cause well.... its just a pretty blue color.... something that feels good to stare at... and ooooh aaahhhhh. but of course not when im driving... sometimes...

anyway, the max bright of the nav is bright as daylight... waaaaay too bright..

is there a way to make it so that the gauges can be as bright as possible when the headlights are on, but have the nav in night mode...

o ya.... i know it can be done manually, but i don't plan on doing that every single time. so for those of you geniuses out there who had a good moronic comeback ready.... sorry to dissapoint

 

i think you can leave your guages bright and the navi dim if you set the navi in night mode on the setup screen

 

Go to NAV menu .. I think it's on screen one you can set nav to Day, Night or Auto ... Night will be black background with lighter roads. I don't think it can be done automatically .. maybe if you just dim the dash one notch the guages will still be bright but the nav will dim....

 

Yes you can, just do what he says above, just hit the Setup/Info button and change the NAV screen to NIGHT. It will keep everything else bright as hell and change the screen to night mode, I have mine just as you say, but it gets to be a pain in the ass to switch it back and forth from night to day just to have bright lights .

 

I was playing with this last night......What I did was to hit the max button and then adjust the brightness down 1 and this turned the nav to night mode and seemed to keep the dash on MAX. I could be wrong but I think it is a lot easier to leave it set like this than have to go into the NAV and manually change it to night.
