Lost XM preset

Today I tried to change my XM Channel with the steering ch up down button and realised that all the XM preset have been set to channel 1. Wonder why would this happen? Anybody experience the same?

Did you lose electrical power? Someone disengage the battery for some reason?

I've had my XM radio default to Channel 1 on occassion, but I've never lost the presets.

Any chance your subscription expired?

Are you sure you're not on XM-2? Remember, you have two sets of presets for XM. If all your presets are on XM-1, and you're on XM-2, then what you're describing would happen.

That may be it..I'll check once back in the car. Wha is this though? 1 and 2? More channels or just a way to remember 6 more presets?

It's a way to have twelve presets.

From my experience the radio and driver 1/2 aren't connected

Unless I missed a setup option, which could happen, the driver 1 vs. driver 2 has no effect on the audio settings.

The previous mode, channel and volume are unchanged no matter which key unlocks the car.

This thread has been dormant for a few months, but I just ran into this problem of loosing XM presets and was wondering if anyone had any more info on this.

Revewing the thread I understand the difference between XM 1 and XM 2 presets and that does NOT appear to be the problem.

I entered presets for both XM 1 and XM 2 and then had all of XM 2 to become channel 1.

Kind of an annoying problem.

I had this problem once. XM system "thought" my account was expired.

I called XM, and did the whole activation again.

Ah. This seems like something. My XML account is still the 3 month trial account. Is it possible that until I sign up for it myself that this problem may persist?

Essentially, could the problem of disappearing XM presets be related to my using a 3 month trial account?

My case happened at the 2nd week after I renewed my XM deal... I called XM, the account Rep. fixed it right away, and never have problems since then.

Evidently there HAS been a change between the 04 and 05 models. In the 05 models, the memory settings for the two individual key fobs DO control the audio settings. I had the same problem on my new 05 that you're describing - I had set my twelve XM presets and then when my husband opened the car using his key fob, the XM settings reverted back to the "preview" channel, with no presets in memory (because he, of course, had not yet set any.) Did you use the other key fob to open the car when you had this problem?
