lost of touchscreen...using Dom's Unit w/ PnP

Does any1 else have this problem? I installed Dom's unit on my '07 TL and I lost the abilitity to use the touchscreen on my navi system. It is stuck on the homepage and I can't even get the audio screen to show up. The light powers up on Dom's unit, but thats pretty much it. I used the toggle switch and nothing happens. However once I unplug Dom's unit and put the factory plug back in everything works as normal . Did I get a defective unit?

Double check your connections such as grounds, power, and make sure all connectors are plugged in all the way. It seems like your wiring is off somewhere. If you have a multimeter, it will help you diagnose your connections.

The touchscreen should work regardless which source is displaying on the screen. When I switch to my backup camera or mediagate, I can still activate buttons on the factory navi menus even though it is not displaying on the screen. To the system, it is still displaying the factory menus. You should not be losing this ability.

I had this same problem when I installed mine. I found that I hadn't seated the plug from the P&P harness into the back of the dvd player correctly. Make sure it clicks in or the screen will do strange things.

Thanks for info guys. I triple checked all the wirings and they are secure. Everything powers up and the red led is on. But still nothing. It would just stay stuck on the warning screen when the navi powers up. I tried to push the "ok" button and nothing. The audio from my AM/FM/XM/CD still comes through, but the screen is blank. The toggle switch from Dom's unit doesn't do anything either. Just to make sure I have the right connection...I plug the PnP harness into the socket that I unplug the stock 20pin from, is this correct? From there I plug the factory 20 pin connector into Dom's harness and the other end of the harness I plug into Dom's unit. All the wires are grounded(including the 1 wire from the PnP harness) and 1 wire is to power(I didn't use the blue wire because I have a 07 w/ stock backup cam.) Can you guys think of something that I might be missing or connecting wrong?
