Looks like the Alpine PXE-H650 is out!

I've been using the Rockford Fosgate 3Sixty.2 and I've been having trouble with my sub performance. I'm dying to find out if anyone has installed the Alpine PXE-H650 yet. Big difference between the way these work, since the Alpine uses a microphone and white noise to calibrate the sound response inside the car, while the 3Sixty only checks the sound internally (and it's a pain, cause you have to unplug all your outputs every time you want to calibrate).

I saw the Alpine for sale for the first time today, and this seems to be the only website that has it:

That's weird, that link doesn't seem to work either. You can just go to

http://www.techronics.com

and look it up by name.

Interesting product...

I also have a 3sixty.2 and it's working out quick well for me... what do you mean that you have to remove all the outputs when you want to re-calibrate??? I know that you have to remove them when you do a new set-up... but to change your crossover levels and EQ profiles you do from your Bluetooth Device...

Maybe I'm confused about your definition of calibrate... do you mean adjust the cross-over and EQ profile??? Or are you continuously re-summing your system???

Alpine doesn't even have any real details about this device on their website... just press releases...

rodneyc77, I sure wish I could listen to your car. It would give me hope. Yeah, by "calibrate" I mean the OEM setup, where you play the CD to set your levels on the 3Sixty and you have to unplug the outputs. I've been doing that a lot, because I've been troubleshooting the system. It's a real pain to have to do that. If they had thought about it, they could just mute the outputs during the process, since the unit already has that capability.

I'm particularly interested in the PXE-H650 because it senses the actual acoustic environment with the mic and then compensates. In my previous car, a 95 Legend, I had a Pioneer DEQ 9200 that does exactly that and it did wonders for the sound. It had a bypass switch and the "before and after" effect was unbelievable. If the 3Sixty had that feature, it would be unbeatable, being wirelessly controlled and all.

To connect your sub (and other speakers), did you use T-taps on the high-level wires or did you cut them completely for full connections?

I forgot to mention that Alpine had that unit posted on their website last year and it was supposed to be released in November, but I guess they've had some problems and it's been delayed. But I don't understand why they took it off their website, cause I used to look at it frequently there. The write-ups on it in Car Audio mag and other places are very good.
