Link remotes...
I have my remote linked to my car so that I can open the doors and the trunk but if I go into the menu on the dash to keyless settings it tells me the remote is not linked. Wtf
The remote will still unlock the doors and trunk even if it is not linked.
If the remote is linked, it will also store the driver's seat, climate control, exterior mirror and radio settings.
To test, move your driver's seat to a different position and close the door with the remote. Then unlock the door with the remote. If the driver's seat slides back into position as the door is opened, the remote is linked. If the seat doesn't move, the remote is not linked.

I've done this process twice now and the car still says "customizing not available until linked to remote"
The codes of up to three transmitters can be stored into the keyless receiver unit memory. (If a fourth code is stored, the code which was first input will be erased.)
NOTE: It is important to maintain the time limits between the steps. Make sure the doors, the hood and the trunk lid are closed.
1. Turn the ignition switch ON (II)
2. Within 1 to 4 seconds, press the transmitter lock or unlock button with the transmitter aimed at the keyless receiver unit behind the driver’s side of the dashboard.
3. Within 1 to 4 seconds, turn the ignition switch OFF.

11. Within 1 to 4 seconds, press the transmitter lock or unlock button with the transmitter aimed at the keyless receiver unit behind the driver’s side of the dashboard.
12. Confirm you can hear the sound of the door lock actuators within 1 to 4 seconds, then push the transmitter lock or unlock button again, or the code will not be stored.
13. Within 10 seconds, aim the transmitter (up to two additional ones) whose codes you want to store in the keyless receiver, and press the transmitter lock or unlock buttons. Confirm that you can hear the sound of the door lock actuators after each transmitter code is stored.
14. Turn the ignition switch OFF, and remove the key.
15. Confirm proper operation with the transmitters.
NOTE: Once the programming mode is entered, the remote button must be pressed a second time. If the button is not pressed, or if the ignition switch is turned OFF, the programming for all remotes will be cancelled.

Having an issue similar to the OPs. Will just pressing the unlock/lock buttons at the same time fix this?
Note: Am able to do lock/unlock car/trunk using remote but not able to set any of settings due to car saying remote is not linked.
