I've just purchased my TL , but I think I still have the old disc for NAV.
I was wondering how often the new version of the disc comes out, and can we buy this locally from the dealership or we have to order online.

The disks seem to come out about once a year.

On a related question, I have a 2005 TL. The AcuraNavi web site claims that the latest version of the DVD for my car is 3.70. I think the '08 TL's have version 4.xx in them. Will the 4.xx version work in the '05 Navi systems? The tech said that if you install the latest version you can't go back to the original version and he wasn't sure whether the newest version worked or caused any bad side effects in the '05 TL.

 

As long as your updated DVD is the same color as the one you currently use, you should be good to go. I believe that the '05 TL's use the "orange" color discs. Hope this helps!

Correct - you use the latest version of YOUR color. I think the pre-07's will ALWAYS use a version 3.xx.
