I did speaker wire to R+ and R- and another speaker wire for L+ and L-. I then tied the two R- and L- together. Once hooked up to the headphone jack, I applied electrical tape to the metal for each prong so each prong was insulated. I then taped all 4 wires togeter near the headphone jack to give the whole thing strength.
I connected just one of these -- the head unit wires -- and then tried it just to confirm I was correct. Then do the XM part (if you want). As you connect each wire, make sure you know what you are connecting -- double check as you go and things will go smoothly.

I had mine installed this summer. When I switch it to XM and turn up the volume above 20, I can hear whizzing noise. Also, the xm audio strength is lower than others (ipod, cds, radio) at the same volume level. Does anyone experience this? Thanks.

@foot3ch: yeah... ive noticed that the XM volume is quite a bit lower than that of the CD player! Its kind of annoying actually... i have a full JL Audio system installed with cleansweep and STILL the XM doesnt get too loud at full volume (40). With the CD changer, when the volume is at 25 it sounds great! Can anyone explain this?

It looks like the P.I.E. X-3 switcher gives you the same functionality as a plug and play solution. Have you looked at this?
