Keyless push to start

Hey guys.. was looking into the push to start system for my acura but haven't seen anyone on the forum who actually has this product. Looked through youtube and it seems to work pretty well (although installation seems a bit tricky) has anyone had or know about the quality of it ? I heard the one that is most common is the ST800.. any insight would be appreciated.

Agree, I don't really like it in the 12 it is just goofy to me and more crap to potentially break. I could see a botched or unreliable install leaving you stranded and for what?

Not sure if you noticed, but our cars come with a feature called "Auto-Start". If you turn your key over for a split second and let go, it will turn the car over automatically for you. IMO, push to start isn't that much of an upgrade from this. Super quick way to start the car, not gonna save much time or hassle by installing push to start.

There is a newer version of the ST800, the ST900. I had the ST800 and it worked fairly well, but would not recommend it at all.

The ST800 was extremely difficult to install. The parts it used were really old, instructions unclear, and required a 1000 wires to be spliced. Their tech support team (which you will need for the install) are actually quite helpful. It was a bit finicky in use and I thought the keypad to be ugly and obtrusive. Unfortunately, these problems are not the reason I do not recommend it. Their service was horrible.

God forbid something breaks or goes wrong, because they will take weeks to help you. I broke the antenna off of mine and had to beg three different people to send me one. I offered to pay for the antenna and pay for overnight shipping. After a week or so of emailing, I finally got someone to send me an antenna. It took two weeks to get to me. Now, I was starting my car by using the external keypad for three weeks by this time, so I chucked the system and went back to the good ol' key in the ignition.

I don't know if the ST900 is much better, but it looks pretty good. I just don't trust the guys selling it.

I thought of giving the Advanced Keys system a shot, but will probably go with a Switchblade key.

TLDR: ST800 hard to install, works decent, horrible service. Advanced Keys maybe. I'm going with Switchblade key.

Agreed. Save your money on this venture and put it to some good use on a different mod.

Old thread, but question
I have an 05 and my car does not do this.
Should I be concerned? And it seems to have kind of a hard or rough start..

I could not agree more!
I usually use the term "solution looking for a problem" which is pretty much the same as you say. I mean seriously, you need to have the "whatever the hell they call it" transmitter thing in your pocket or else it won't start so why not have whatever is in your pocket just be a key along with all the other keys you carry.
