Just installed Sirius
During the initial 3 month XM trial period, I never really did like it that much. Plus, being an NFL and Stern fan, I thought Sirius might be better. So I took the plunge and bought the new Starmate Replay device:

It fits in the lower compartment in our dashes where the power outlet is almost perfectly. I'll post some pics if y'all want them...didn't get around to taking them yet. And the color of the buttons and screen is blue so it goes with our dashboards fairly well.
The wireless FM modulator on this thing is incredible. I tried an FM modulator for my iPod and it was crap. This thing puts out a strong signal and sounds just as good as any FM channel. Also, the sound quality of Sirius is much better compared to XM -- even with the FM modulator. I was always having to tweak the bass levels for XM compared to other inputs. Sirius sounds good at whatever setting you normally have.
After listening for a couple days, I prefer the music selection and sports selection over XM as well. All in all I think this unit works well with our cars and that Sirius is better than XM.

thats pretty awesome...id like to see pics.....but does it fit perfectly in the little spot and it COVERS the power outlet? or does it fit in the little section there? if it does...does it close?
I'll try to remember to take some pics tonight when I get home from work. But it fits over the whole thing and actually covers the outlet (it's not very deep). There is just enough room on the side of it where the power and antenna wires go in for them to fit almost perfectly. If this thing were 1/4" bigger in any direction it wouldn't fit. But as it is, it basically snaps right in place like it was designed for it. Awesome that I found one that fit so well. Most of them are these big ugly squarish looking ones that REALLY won't fit anywhere convenient.
Here's a guy on the forum who did exactly what I did but with a slightly different model. Pics would look about the same.

Here are some pics. As you can see, it leaves enough room for all the cords -- I also have a radar detector and iPod hooked up through my tape deck. You could do a lot better with hiding the cords in the dash if you wanted to. I probably will sooner or later. The one without the flash is pretty crappy quality, but it gives you an idea about how the color scheme works.
Unfortunately, it doesn't go back far enough to close the door. But it fits in there so nicely that you don't really need it to. Especially if you have cords coming out of the left side.

What kind of antenna does the device use? Is it on the dash, or do you have to run it to the back window?
Is there any way for the wires to go through the back of the compartment and not the side?
I had a JVC receiver for Sirius when I had my A4 and loved it. I am considering getting this from Sirius. It looks pretty cool, and it is portable too.

Yeah, that S50 looks bad ass. I would have waited for it, but I wanted something that fit in one of the compartments we already have in our cars. It uses an antenna that is "supposed" to go on your trunk or top of your car but I have it sitting on my dash and it works fine. Notice the two wires that go off to the left of the unit. One is the power wire, which goes next to my seat, over to the back plug in the console. The other goes up to my dash where the antenna is located.
I haven't looked into it, but you can probably wire them up behind the console. You might have to drill a hole in the compartment the unit is sitting in to get behind it, but I bet it could be done fairly easily. At first I was concerned with how many wires I'd have (radar detector, ipod, and Sirius). But they aren't THAT noticeable. I'm not so sure I'll ever get around to trying to hide them. I used little plastic adhesive clip things to tuck the wires away so they aren't all loose and hanging around.

The big curly cue one is for my radar detector and you can see the tape deck one hanging off of that. without those two things, all you have is the two just to the left of the receiver. It's a bit misleading because of all the crap I have there. Like I said, it would look much nicer to hide them all. And I'm sure you could somehow.
Check the link of the guy I posted at the beginning of the post. He mounted a Sirius receiver in the same place, and you don't see any wires. I'd be interested to find out how his wires are routed.

i agree. i wish acura would have given us the choice of sirius vs. xm. if we want sirius, we're forced to deal with some stupid thing that doesn't integrate well with the car at all. i just figured this one was the less of all the evils. and you get used to it. it's not that bad once all the wires aren't all in your face.
I think it looks fine, but I do think that the member that installed the Stargate system looks better. It looks to be a little smaller and possibly still leaving room for the door to close. Does anyone know if sirius still sells the stargate? I didn't see it on their website, but I did find it on ebay for $119.

Im thinking of putting mine in the other compartment easier to adjust when in park and the remote fits good next to the power plug in the bottom bin when not in use.
