Just figured something out with the musiclink

I bought my car with the musiclink installed, I did this because it was easier for me to get it past my wife, no arguments about extra money. I've been happy with the sound quality of the musiclink, but sometimes I find it cumbersome to get to the exact arist/album that I want. What I discovered was that if you navigate to the selection you want using the ipod BEFORE you plug the ipod into your car, and start playing it and then pause it, the radio will start playing that particular selection when you connect the ipod to the car.

You should PM slimmyjimmy. He got rid of his MusicLink and switched to USA Spec PA11-HON2. He likes the USA Spec more.

Have you installed all the software from musiclink on your ipod? Once you get to this product, its really easy to navigate between, albums, artist, and genre.

Yes I installed the acura software. I still found the navigation to be a bit cumbersome. I guess I'm used to using the ipod.

Plus I found that changing the ipod, say adding a new album, and then having to run the acura software to be very sloooowww. And I've got a fairly fast pc. It would normally take a couple of seconds to load the album. And now with the acura software it would take an additional three or four HOURS to sync up the acura software. Unless I'm doing something wrong, you do need to run the software each time you change your ipod right?

Aggie2000,

Don't you find the acura software to load onto your ipod really slow? I mean after changing some songs on the ipod.

It's really not that hard once you get the hang of it. If you read the entire thread, you will see that it's not as difficult as I first thought. Also, it's not a question of learning how to use the Music Link, because I do. The problem is the TTS software sucks the big one. If you have 4000 songs on your iPod like I do, it takes forever to run the software and it crashes half the time. If you ever get it to work, it's slow as hell to pick the track you want. Plus the Music Link won't let me play my videos. So there!

dmarcus, yes it loads slowly. But I choose to do other things while it loads. Sometimes, I just let it run overnight.

OK thanks for the reply I didn't think it was my pc. i've got an amd 64, with 2 gig of ram.

I sometimes find it hard to use the acura software to get exactly what I want. I've seen your posts on the method you use. With me it's hit or miss.
