JL TR 650-CXi

I just got a pair of speakers (JL TR 650-CXi) installed in my rear deck by Rollin Sound for $160. They sound good, but I feel like my OEM speakers sounded almost just as good before they blew. Why is that? And did I get ripped off? Thanks.

Stock amp...

They're a 4 ohm speaker instead of a 2 ohm so chances are they won't get as loud. With the stock amp you just can't take advantage of them. Plus they're in the rear so it's harder to notice a difference. I have some pretty nice audio stuff in my car but there's a reason I'm still running the stock rears.

I've never been a huge fan of their components. They're definitely not bad but IMO there's better for the money..... Damn I almost sound like the anti-JL bandwagon lol. Remember it's all subjective especially the mids and highs. Part of me not loving the JL components comes from my preference of the laid back sound of a silk dome tweeter which means I don't like 80% of the components out there so take it for what it's worth. I love their subwoofers and amps though.
