OK... I really miss the stereo in my last car which played mp3 discs and had a usb plug for my flash drives...
I have been looking at the iSimple kit for iPod hookup. I have a 2006 TL without NAV.
question 1. Will it work with any iPod or only certain models?
question 2. Since I dont have NAV, will my steering wheel control still work the ipod?
question 3. Do they have a kit that will allow connection of a flash drive and play directly from it?

 

Any ipod will work and all steering wheel controls will still work . I dont know if they have anything for a flash drive , but it does come with another cable , to either use rca's or a 3.5mm headphone jack

If you have XM traffic I believe you need a different harness and the Isimple gets installed in the trunk.

 

I was gonna ask that as well. I want to keep my built in XM. I just have the XM "mostly music" program.

 

Thank you for your reply, but I don't think I have XM traffic (or I've never noticed before?) Since my TL is a non-nav version, XM only gives me some music program. and I am not planning to renew the subscription if I can install the 3rd party ipod/iphone interface.

I have the 571 for my 06 with navi! I would go to the website and enter your vehicle they should be able to determine it

 

PXAMG owner here (06 TL non-Navi) I'll try my best to answer questions.

It works with most models. Some people have had problems with iPhones and iTouch iPods because of the software updates Apple pushes out to them.

I don't have NAV and my steering wheel buttons control the iPod just fine.

Unfortunately no. You would have to go with a DICE module to do that. With the PXAMG you get the iSimple cable plus a 3.5mm jack attachment. I swapped mine out and got the HD Radio component but I need to take it back to my stereo guy since it doesn't work right.
