iSimple only $79.99

I've been wanting one of these for a while, but didn't want to drop $150. I just found it brand new on eBay for $79.99.

Some of you might have already known about this, but it is new news to me so I figured I would pass it on.

Does anyone know if this will work with an iPhone 6? I know I will have to buy an adapter.

I'm in the same boat myself actually.

I might just get the dual aux port one. Going to install a nexus 7 in my dash and that would eliminate any possibly compatibility issues.

I actually have the ISIM71, which only worked for older iphones/ipods up to iOS 4.
A local was selling a whole bunch for $30, refurbished.

What I did was buy a used iPod touch from my friend for real cheap and just keep it plugged in 24/7 to my car.

It's kinda as if I had a hard drive installed in the car.
I hate the idea of having to take my phone in and out, unplug and plug to iSimple, each time I want to listen to music.
That's why I bought an iPod I can keep in the car, hidden in the armrest compartment.

Plus I'm OCD as hell, if I were to plug in my phone, I'd have to put the phone somewhere, and in the cup holder looks ugly, on top of the cup holder cover - the phone slides around, and puts weight on the fragile cover that are known to break.

Ask any of your friends for an old iPod, someone will surely have one.

Doesn't your Ipod constantly drain power when plugged in and the car is off? I noticed my iPod keeps charging so I always unplug it and plug it back it when I drive my car. Unless it's different for different TL models? I'd much rather have it always plugged in and out of sight but mine still pulls power

I put one of those sticky pads on the cup holder cover and a $2 rubber ipod case and it doesn't slide around at all

I leave mines plugged in and no issues here. Car has even sat for a week and still started.

Does yours say it's charging still after you turn off your car? I think I remember reading that the 07-08 model acted differently

I'm actually about to install this kit, but I'm waiting for the harness to arrive (XM and Nav with traffic use a different harness). I too have a 6 and will need to buy the 30 pin to Lightning adapter from Apple. I'll post my findings as soon as that harness shows up

Mine stays charging after I turn off the car.

No battery drain issues.
No issues with the iPod being overcharged, either.
Been doing this since 2011, only unplugging the iPod when I need to sync music on iTunes.

thanks guys, i had just assumed that since it still charges that it would have a detrimental effect on the battery but maybe i'll have to leave it plugged in and see what happens!

that would be much easier than unplugging and plugging it in every time i drove! haha

I see there are like 5 different models of this ISIMPLE. Some say NOT COMPATABLE with XM NAV TRAFFIC? What does this exactly mean. Im an android user so i dont care for the apple software issues i just need the AUX part of it. Can anyone recommend the isimple that would be compatable with a NAV equipped 06 TL?

I've been watching this for months. It was at 99.99 just a little bit ago. I bought it today. I had a similar one in my 2005 with navigation before it moved on to greener pastures; now I have an 07. This is the one to use if you have navigation. From what I understand, it would corrupt the signal for the XM traffic, but I don't know how. This one will work with your navigation display and other controls. It won't effect SiriusXM or anything else. I spoke to the isimple people about this. I am not anticipating any issues with the install, but I'll let everyone know if there are any hiccups.
