Rip apart my center console and just hook it up that way

OR do I see if I can weasel my way to the hookups via laying on the floor of my drivers seat and fashioning myself a hook?

It doesn't take long to remove the console side panel and once this is done, it's easy to see the back of the head unit and insert the required connector. Also with the side panel removed, you can use a long screw driver as a pry bar to push the connector fully into the head unit until you hear that snap of the connector lock. Without the screw driver, I'm not sure if you can really fully insert the connector. Mine was kind of tight and the screw driver made all the difference.
