iSimple Help!

So I recently bought an Isimple kit from a member here. Got it working but what I was wondering if it was possible to have XM to work as well with it as well?

Also, after finishing my installation, i keep getting "IPOD NOT CONNECTED" on my navi screen and have to replug it multiple times to get it working X_Xany know why its doing this?

I have an 06 so your car might be different but I have XM and it works. If you are on your Ipod you have to hit the FM button then XM and quickly turn the tuning dial and you will see it scroll thru the different inputs...aux1, aux2, XM and Ipod. If you have XM hooked up stop there and it should start working after a couple of seconds.

As for the Ipod not connected...maybe a firmware update is necessary.

+1

The type-S works with the PXAMG and Sddale has the selection right. There are two different iSimple harnesses for the TL; the PGHHD1 and '2. To install the PXAMG in the trunk and work correctly with the XM with NavTraffic, the type-S needs the '2 harness.

As for the iPod Not Connected message, this is common and just means that the iPod connector isn't seated correctly. It could be either end on the cable but the iPod end is pretty touchy in my setup; when I take the iPod off the connector and then reconnect it, it's about 50-50 if I get it plugged back in correctly the first time. If you don't get it plugged in right the first time it sometimes helps to turn the radio off and then back on and then try and reconnect.

So I had it set up and when I cycle through the menu I don't see XM at all. it's just AUX1, AUX2 and then IPOD

You should make sure that you connected the harness properly. Maybe the plug didn't snap into place.
