iSimple help

I have a 04 tl with nav, I installed the iSimple today and now when I watch videos on the nav unit I hear a hissing sound from the speakers that only occurs when I play videos. Audio works fine, but is there a way to display artist and song info on the nav screen? Or a way to operate the ipod of iphone from the nav unit?

It sounds like you already had some type of kit installed for video on the nav screen. The iSimple will allow you to view artist/song/etc. information on the screen as well as control the iPod from it. Did you read the directions?

Yes i did read it, but I have it set up that the isimple is connected to an FM modulator and plays through an FM station 89.1. Im not really a fan of FM transmitters. Is there a way to directly connect it to the factory stereo and use an unused button say the XM to play the feed? Maybe that way it would display the song info instead of just displaying 89.1

I installed the iSimple on my 04 Navi with XM. I had to unplug the radio connection on the back of the Navi, near the gas pedal, and plug the iSimple in first followed by the radio connection into the back of the iSimple connector. When I turn on the radio I can toggle with the right radio dial to XM / Ipod / AUX 1 / AUX 2 in the first 4 seconds. If you want to listen to AM/FM hit the button to switch back to Ipod or XM hit the XM button and toggle to whichever input you want. Works great, Ipod shows on Navi screen with artist and song title.
