iSimple HD651 Feedback Need

Obviously we all are aware of the limitations audio wish in the TL, which lead me to the ISimple. Features wise- it sounds to have exactly everything that I am looking to add in, while keeping the stock radio setup. I wanted to find out if anyone else is using this? How does it work in real time? Any glitches or issues that might come up? Should I not waste my money? Anything you guys can tell me will help!!

OK, after doing some more searching, I see that a good bit of people have used this item, and people seem to complain about issue of using bluetooth for phone calls and issues with the internal HFL that we have. I have never used my HFL and dont intend to, so would this prevent this discussed issue?

I tried the iSimple HD651. The install was simple enough, but the unit I received did not work well. It was sluggish and it did not respond well to the controls. Even after I paired my phone (Galaxy S4), it never connected automatically with the bluetooth on my phone and half the time it would not detect my phone at all. Overall I was very disappointed with the iSimple and ended up returning it. I don't know if my unit was defective or if it just did not work all that well. I considered buying another unit, but was looking to see if there were any alternatives first. Hope that helped. Good luck.

Sorry, I forgot to address the HFL. I didn't actually have any problems with using the Acura HFL while the iSimple was installed. I tried both pairing my phone to the Acura HFL for phone calls and just bluetooth streaming audio through the iSimple and it worked fine (when it actually connected, soundwise at least). I also unpaired the Acura HFL and used the iSimple for both the phone and music streaming an that worked as well. At the time it didn't seem that the Acura HFL had any issues with the iSimple, but now I wonder if that was why the unit did not work that well. Anyway, let me know what you ended with. i am still looking for a bluetooth audio solution that will work without any glitches.

I am using the same one and have no issue with it. Initially i had issues with Bluetooth streaming with a Sony Xperia phone. It would have a lot of static. But it worked fine with other devices. Once my phone got the latest lollipop upgrade, even that started working fine so i guess it was an issue on the phone's software side.

Other than that no issues. It has a lot of inputs and brings a lot of things that our factory system lacks. Hope this helps.

I think that I am going to purchase it, and have it installed professionally. As long as I get the cable for ipods, a aux cable for my android that will help me play just about anything, but Bluetooth and a USB port mean much more music!

I installed the ISIM7518 and took it right back out. It functioned okay at best. Text didn't work even in SAT emulation mode. I just ordered and received the BT45-HON3 and so far it's working much better. Text is accurately displayed. I haven't tested the phone yet but will later this evening.

Is that different than the HD651?
