iSimple firmware update tips

When updating the isimple gateway, do you guys unplugg everything from the unit or do you leave everything intact and just flip the dip switches?

Reason im asking is each time I update or reset the pxamg, I have to unplug the harness from the back of the radio in order for it to be recognized.

which involves removing the knee bolster etc...
I'm starting to think this iSimple isnt so simple at all.
After updating the firmware to the latest. All my songs are set to repeat. It's driving me nuts.

You need to unplug everything...at least that is what the manufacturer states to do. Once you get a firmware that works, leave it. You shouldn't have to keep updating on every new release.

.36 was working fine with the exception of the display going blank from time to time. Was in contact with someone from isimple via email and they advised this new firmware will fix my issues.

I should of known better than to take his word for it.
Now im having all sorts of ridiculous issues. Matter of fact, If I can get my hands on .36 firmware I'll reflash it this afternoon.

That sucks. I am having issues with mine as well actually, but mine is that it screws up the audio selection screen. It's as if it has to reinitialize every time I turn the car on. Sometimes it doesn't start up right and I can't press the audio button. Sometimes I can press the audio button, but the XM1 and XM2 options are not there. It's crazy. I need to try a reset and wait for the next firmware update I guess.

Good luck to you.

i'll tackle this issue tomorrow while im changing my oil.

I have to look at the serial number on my box and match the firmware it came with.

ohh now, when attempting to select my XM. I get these lines instead

turning the rotary knob delays the choices or just doesnt work.

ok, so I removed my pxamg and flashed it to v.38

i'll find out this afternoon what progress its made.
Would anyone know which version is most stable?

from my searches it looks like iSimple fixes previous issues with latest firmware only to discover other problems arise.

Can I ask what firmware version yours is running? Mine is a crapshoot whether it works right away.

Same here... I installed mine about a month ago and it does everything I need. I see no reason to do an firmware upgrade right now.

Where should buy the iSimple at this time. What else do I need other then what the unit comes with?

thanks for the replies on how your device is working "perfectly" unfortunately, that doesnt answer my question..

I reverted to v.38 and so far so good. At least for now.

Oh and this only happens when I listen to my iPod. No problems with CDs.

i had the same issue. have you tried changing the display selection via the "display" button? it should work. keep it set either what displays the artist or track name.
