iSimple Connect

This is coming out 10/6/12 -- $230.00

Enjoy your favorite songs, discover new content with internet radio, and safely manage phone calls, hands-free with a touch of a button. One discrete module hidden in your vehicle seamlessly connects your devices while providing control through your factory radio and steering wheel controls. The Connect’s USB port provides charging and music playback from your smartphone or music playback from a portable USB hard drive or thumb drive.

CONNECT, your phone, your car - wirelessly.

Specs:
  • SUSB Connection for Charging and Control of smartphones, tablets, and media players
  • Device browsing and control by wired or Bluetooth connection
  • Built-in Bluetooth for hands-free calling (HFP) and audio streaming (A2DP)
  • Wireless device control using audio video remote Control Profile (AVRCP)
  • 2.1Amp Charging for iPad and other compatible devices
  • Song text (metadata) on factory radio Auxiliary Audio Input

Anyone know if this is going to replace the Gateway for those that aren't iPhone/iPod guys.

Or do you think this will connect to the Gateway?

Seems like a great solution for those that want hands free calling but don't want to pay for an HFL replacement ... built in BT.

Thoughts?

Nope.
New product.

I just got off the phone with support and was told the initial compatibility will only be for GM and Toyota vehicles and to not expect Honda/Acura until after the new year.

Ugh.

I so wanted this.

I guess I'll tide myself over with a cassette adapter ... ugh.

I'm currently running a Blitzsafe adapter and Scosche steering wheel control with my iPod and iPhone- this works well, but I'd love a wireless connection. I'd get this in a heartbeat once they get the bugs worked out. I wanted to run an Aux for the BB Gateway (for wireless/BT streaming), but it would require me to get either an iSimple Gateway or a USA Spec adapter as the Blitzsafe I have doesn't have an Aux input. Now I think I'm going to wait til this comes out.

Thanks for the heads up!
