Ipod Problems In Acura TL
Ipod Problems In Acura TL
I took my 1999 Acura TL to a local audio company and had a new Pioneer 7700 radio installed and had my Ipod hardwired into this - now the radio controls the Ipod as if I were using the Ipod on it's own. Very cool!! I am not good with eletronic equip in my car - however, from what I can understand, the installer had to use a series of "adapters" to get this accomplished.
Problem is - my subwoofer doesn't seem to work. I kept hearing this "hum" from the back of the car when the radio was on - not even on Ipod but on standard radio or CD player - and volume of the radio doesn't make a difference. The hum is there with the volume turned all the day down or up. The radio sounds great, the Ipod works perfectly - it's just the subwoofer.
I took it back to the audio store and the installer says that he didn't realize that the subwoofer was not working. He made a lot of phone calls and finds out that with a Bose speaker system, the subwoofer needs a special adapter as well to make the amp work. Guess what? They don't MAKE this special adapter. He said that I could upgrade my subwoofer to a Pioneer subwoofer or unplug. Well, the hum is so annoying that it is unplugged at the time. I have about $500 in the new radio and install and hate to put another $500 into this!
Any suggestions? The installer is a really nice guy but said this is all he knows about this and if I could find out what he needs to fix this, he will be more than happy to do it - it's just beyond his knowledge level.
Help!! What should I do??Ipod Problems in Acura TL
