Ipod Connector - Digital or Analog?
Hey everyone,
Just purchased a used 2007 TL-S posted on acurazine actually: https://acurazine.com/forums/member-cars-sale-49/2007-acura-tl-type-s-29k-miles-19-ron-jon-wheels-lowered-fully-loaded-%2425-450-a-782036/
Anyway, Steven installed an aftermarket Ipod connector and as I neither use nor endorse Apple products, I have no way of using it. Having absolutely no knowledge of Ipod connectors, what I would like to know is whether this is a digital or analog connection? Basically, is the ipod playing the mp3 or is the car?
What I would really like would be the ability to plug in a memory stick and have the car decode and play the mp3 as if they were on a disc to ensure the best quality.
Thanks

The 07/08 models have an analog stereo mini-jack in the center console. Without knowing what kit this person put in the car, it's hard to answer. There are kits that control the iPod and there are kits where you do all the control from the iPod.

This appears to be one you can control from the car:

The only real reason I care is to see if anyone has "tricked" the system into reading mp3s off of a flash drive rather than a CD?
I have an aftermarket head unit in my other car with the USB functionality. It'd be really nice to add it to the 3rd gen system.
