I just purchased a 2006 TL without the Navi and was wondering if an ipod connection installation was a possiblity, and would I be able to use the actual system to control the ipod if such a connection exists.

Do a search on PXAMG or Peripheral and you will find a ton of information. You can p.m. Uncald4 also he can sell you everything you need to do it right. He is Travis at Gig Harbor Autoworks he helped out with my wife and daughters car.

PXAMG works well with my 04 TL non-navi. Initially i got the neo pro link but that doesn't work too well even though they said that it'd work.
