Soooo I've been using the tape deck adaptor for my music on my iPhone 5

I know there is a adaptor for the iPod from the factory but since I have the 5 I'm Whirry on spending money on the Module and the adaptor for the iPhone 5 connector..

Any other options ????
Or should I stick the the tape deck adaptor??

 

There's a night and day difference in sound quality by going with something like a USA Spec adapter. If your not connecting to the XM port SQ quality will suffer.

 

I agree. The tape deck sounds horrible.

If you got an iSimple or USASPEC adapter (not sure if they sell one with the Lightning adapter) you would have to buy this

Word of warning my friend...

Not sure if it's the iSimple Gateway that malfunctioning on me or what, but I've got the iPhone 5 plugged into the iSimple (using a Lightning to 20 pin adapter) and IPOD mode, for one reason or another, doesn't display song text or even play music for me.

It does, however, work perfectly when in AUX mode through the Isimple Gateway. Sound quality is great and you get to change the songs with your steering controls.

I was at Bestbuy to look at ISNM71 iSimple for it to be installed in my car and the Geeksquad guy was saying that I would need the Lightning Plug Adapter and he isn't sure if it would work fully. So I was a little worried but from reading this forums, it looks like people are having no problems with the adapter?

 

i have the iphone 5, and the tape deck sounds fine. turn down the volume one your iphone to 85-90% and you'll be good.

 

This is because the "ipod out" feature is no longer supported with the lightning connector. This is what sends your radio the song info. Something to do with the adapter I think

I think it's more likely something to do with iSimple or a bad adapter. The lightning adapter works fine with the USA Spec and and 3 different docks / radios I have in the house for audio and text.
