Angry iPhone 4 with iOS 4.1: iPod plays during HFL Calls

I found a new "feature," thanks to the recent firmware update. If I'm listening to music through my iSimple adapter and I initiate a call through the HFL, the music resumes once the call starts ringing and continues during the call via the Bluetooth. The steering wheel controls won't affect it nor will hitting pause on the simple iPod controls found in the multitasking view (double tap the Home button and swipe left). Unplugging the phone from the iSimple kills the music, thankfully, but this sucks.

Even better, the issue I've been having where the Bluetooth just goes away for no reason hasn't been fixed by this update. Grrrr...

I'm having the same issue. I guess I can stop trying to fix it myself.

Since only one other person seemed to be having this issue, I figured it must be pretty isolated. Sure enough, restarting the phone seems to have fixed it for me.

I just got my iSimple in the mail yesterday and getting really scared that it will have some of the problems I've been reading about (especially since I'm a navi convert) . I stopped doing the phone updates after 4.0.1. The updates add some usability and/or new features, but if you use your phone with other computer devices, it just jacks them all up. I'm done with updates since they seem to slow the phone down and do nothing but cause problems. Unless they come out with something I want, I'll stick to what works.

I jumped the gun on the solution I posted above. The problem still exists. The workaround is to switch to the radio before making a call. This pauses the iPod.

It seems like an Apple bug, so I'm going to call support and report it.

No, it still happens. It's incredibly frustrating, but there don't seem to be many people affected by it as there is hardly any mention of it anywhere.

I actually don't think the firmware of the iphones are the cause of the music playing in mid-call. I've been jumping firmwares from 4.0 to 4.2.1 and the same shiz still happens occasionally, I guess I should just be glad that it goes away on its own.

Since updating the firmware in the gateway to the latest and greatest, the problem has gone away for me.
