Intermittent power loss
Intermittent power loss
In the last several days randomly when I have gotten in my car and started it I have had to enter the Navi and radio codes and I get a message that the Navi lost power.
Then yesterday after getting lunch the car would not start. Not turn over or anything. I popped the hood to look at the battery, before I looked that battery I heard CD changer making noise meaning it had power. So I tried to start the car again. It fired up with no problem, it did not even struggle.
Also yesterday at one point while driving the power cut out for a second, everything turned off then cycled back on.
The battery connections are good and do not have any corrosion on them. Has any one else had this happen or have an idea what to check first.
I have not checked the battery voltage yet but when the car starts it fires right up so I do not suspect a weak battery.

Start with a battery test and an alternator test, free at your local AutoZone, O'Reilly, Advance, or what have you. If everything checks out, then I would search for an intermittent connection coming off the battery. Since EVERYTHING is turning off, the problem is likely very close to the battery. Even if the contacts look fine, clean them with a wire brush and check the cable for any damage, particularly the bolt that secures the ground wire to the chassis.
