Installing NAVI in 04 TL

Hey i'm new to the forums and this is my first post. I just purchased a pre-owned '04 Acura TL withouth NAVI. I want to install this feature into my car and was wondering if it was an easy install. I talked to a salesperson the other day and she said that you might as well buy a car with NAVI instead of going through the trouble. Also the parts and labor is going to be more expensive. Anybody with experience with this?? Information would be greatly appreciated!!

Welcome to the forums. Please check out the 3G TL Garage and perform a search before posting.

In this case, your sales person might be right. It is possible though and a few members have done so.

I'm looking into this also w/ a '06 non-nav. Few people have done it themselves, few had a specialty shop do the install. I'm still pondering which way I'm going to go. Please keep us updated which route you decide to go if you indeed attempt the conversion.

Have you attempted this or thinking about doing this? Or do you already have navi?

Though I commend the efforts of those who've already gone through the nightmare of converting their non-Navi TL's to Navis, I don't believe any of them have 100% of all the functionality of a native Navi model. I personally think you've gotta be nuts to do it considering all the parts costs, time, and labor involved. You may be voiding the car's warranty to boot.

Trade it in for a Navi model, or if you're first purchasing the car, DON'T BE IN A HURRY.

This time, the salesman is RIGHT!

Do you believe adding a carputer would void the warranty? This install would not be as brutal as adding the factory navi from what I've read.
