installed sub/amp and now sound only comes on when the engine is on... help!
I installed the Sub and amp, but now that i've installed it... whenever my car is in the on position (position II on the ignition) the radio/cd plays, but no sound comes out from any of the speakers. i have to turn on the car and have the engine running to hear the sound.
does anyone know what's going on?

it wasn;t like this before right? haven't picked up my TL yet so i don't know how they laid out the system....but if u didn't touch any of the speakers wires....check the wiring for the factory amp anyway

I've figured out the problem.... I hooked up the remote wire to the Red/Yellow wire to the amp. (this is the remote turn on lead for the stock amp. it wasn't giving enough juice to signal the stock amp and the sub amp at the same time with just the battery. with the car on the "on" position it only gave 5 volts. I moved the remote wire to the Yellow wire that goes to the stock amp (it's the ignition wire).. this was giving off 12 volts i needed. works now.
but still getting a annoying rattle from the stock sub area... gotta do that fix... i'm too lazy though.. hahaha
thanks!

awesome...thanks for the heads up i'll keep that in mind when i do my install. the same thing kinda happened to me when i did my friend's corolla. I hooked it up to the fuel pump and his check engine light kept on going on and off...figured it out and move the remote wire to the cig lighter and it's fine now.

That;s odd, I tapped mines from the same wire (red/yellow) and dont have any problems with that. The only thing I get is just a light amp/speaker pop when I turn off the card. Do you get that with yours?
